Corruption Probe: Three aides linked to Ismail Sabri released on bail

THREE former senior officers linked to former ninth prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, , were released on bail yesterday after their remand period concluded.

This development comes as part of an ongoing investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) into allegations of corruption and money laundering.

According to a source within the MACC, the three individuals were released after their statements were recorded.

The MACC has stated that it will disclose its findings at a later stage, as the investigation remains active.

The case involves four officers initially remanded, with three held for five days starting from February 21 and the fourth released on February 23 after a three-day remand.

The investigation is being conducted under Section 16(a) of the MACC Act 2009 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing, and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (Act 613), as reported by Bernama.

The MACC has confirmed that it cannot yet reveal any findings, including the value of seized assets, and has not ruled out calling additional witnesses to assist in the investigation.
